I had the opportunity to photograph the Sovern Historic races in Washington State. My focus was mostly away from the track and on the drivers and their cars. Walking in the paddocks and getting up-close gave me a more human perspective of the racing world…. drivers prepping their vintage cars, going through their rituals, and plotting their race strategies. After each race, the debrief sessions were equally as captivating. Drivers exchanged insights with their engineers, analyzing every detail of the performance as they wound down from the adrenalin rush. These moments offered a unique glimpse into the dedication and teamwork that fuel the sport, highlighting the passion and precision behind every race.
